Kathey Ferland has practiced meditation since 1987. She completed the Dedicated Practitioner Program in 2007 and the Community Dharma Leader program in 2017. Kathey was a founding member of the Mariposa Sangha sitting group in Austin, Texas, and has been on its Council, which sets direction for the sangha, since its inception in 2007. She is also on the board of a regional retreat center, the Margaret Austin Center.
Kathey’s teachers include Shaila Catherine, Howie Cohn, and Rodney Smith. She has supported Bodhi Courses in several online classes, and has mentored participants in Spirit Rock’s online introductory course. Kathey has taught introduction to meditation classes since 2010 and is one of the practice leaders at Mariposa Sangha.
Kathey lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and English Springer Spaniel. She is-retired from a career in environmental protection and energy efficiency.
